About UsThe Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor Employers Association is a not-for-profit association representing shipping agencies and terminal operators in Southern California. The Association assists its members in matters relating to the employment of ILWU Local 63 office clerical employees, including the administration of the labor contracts of member companies.
Mission StatementThe mission of the Los Angeles / Long Beach Harbor Employers Association is to:
- Encourage harmonious and peaceful industrial relations between employers and office clerical employees and to promote dependable and efficient ocean cargo transportation in the public interest;
- Assist members in developing policies related to office clerical work and the employment of office clerical employees in the Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor area;
- Serve as a clearinghouse for information and source of expertise for its members in matters relating to the employment of office clerical employees, including negotiation and administration of labor contracts; and
- On request, represent members in negotiating, executing, and obtaining compliance with collective bargaining agreements covering office clerical employees, and ensuring that all such agreements are adhered to in good faith by all parties.
